Terms of Engagement

  • Tait Digital provides independent technology and digital consultancy services to small and medium-sized businesses. These terms explain how services are delivered and form part of every engagement with clients.

By engaging Tait Digital, you agree to these terms unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Tait Digital offers the following core services:

All services are provided as consultancy and advisory work. Any specific tasks, deliverables, or deadlines will be confirmed in writing before work begins.

  • Tait Digital may recommend, configure, or assist with the setup of third-party services such as web hosting, domain registration, Microsoft 365, or software licences.

These services are not included in the fees charged by Tait Digital.

    • Clients are responsible for purchasing, renewing, and maintaining their own third-party accounts and subscriptions.

    • Tait Digital is not a reseller or agent for these providers and accepts no liability for their performance, availability, or pricing.

    • Where credentials are shared for setup purposes, they must be provided securely and will be treated as confidential.

  • All fees are clearly displayed on the Tait Digital website or confirmed in writing before work begins.

    • Fixed price services (such as the Technology Check Up, Tech Setup and Guidance, and Digital Presence Essentials) are payable in full at the time of booking through the online store. Work will be scheduled once payment has been received.

    • Invoicing is available on request for clients who prefer to pay by bank transfer. In these cases, payment will be due in two stages: 50% in advance to confirm the booking, and the remaining 50% within 14 days of project completion. Work will not begin until the initial payment has been received.

    • Ongoing or advisory services (such as the On Call Tech Advisor) are billed monthly in advance, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

    • Any additional work outside the agreed scope will be quoted separately before proceeding.

All prices are quoted in pounds sterling and may be subject to VAT where applicable.

  • Each service includes up to one month of post-completion support for advice and minor adjustments. This support covers questions, clarifications, and small refinements related to the original project.

Work that extends beyond the agreed scope, or requests made after the one-month support period, will be billed at the standard hourly rate of £75 per hour, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Clients who require regular ongoing support are encouraged to use the On Call Advisor service for predictable, monthly guidance and assistance.

  • Clients agree to:

    • Provide access to systems, information, and personnel as needed to deliver the service.

    • Maintain up-to-date backups of all data before any system changes are made.

    • Hold valid licences for any software or services used.

Tait Digital is not responsible for delays or additional costs resulting from missing information or lack of access.

  • All client information is treated as confidential and handled in accordance with UK data protection law (UK GDPR).

No information will be shared with third parties without consent, except where required by law.

  • All written reports, plans, or materials produced by Tait Digital remain the property of Tait Digital until full payment has been received. Once paid, clients have full rights to use these materials for their own business purposes.

  • Tait Digital provides independent advice and consultancy services in good faith.

While every effort is made to ensure accuracy and reliability, Tait Digital cannot be held liable for losses, downtime, or damages arising from third-party systems, software, or suppliers.

  • Either party may terminate a project or agreement in writing with reasonable notice, typically seven working days.

Any work completed up to the termination date will be invoiced accordingly.

  • These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of England.

  • We may update these terms occasionally. The latest version will always be available on this page.
